WHAT WE DO

The Forum Secretariat facilitates information sharing, mutual understanding, and common positioning among all members with the aim of promoting effective intervention and for the betterment of serving populations in need in Libya. The Forum Secretariat supports its members to work jointly on collective initiatives and focuses its efforts through four main areas: information-sharing and knowledge management, coordination, advocacy and collective engagement, and capacity development.

Knowledge Sharing and Management

Coordination

The LIF Secretariat also acts as a focal point for external actors to develop effective relationships between INGOs and different stakeholders.
Advocacy and Collective Engagement
Advocacy and Collective Engagement
To mobilize the LIF members on collective positioning on critical humanitarian issues to support engagement with donors, UN agencies, policy makers and other relevant stakeholders at national, regional, and international levels. The LIF strives to create an enabling environment for INGOs to work collectively and with a unified voice. LIF represents the perspectives of its members in external meetings and coordination mechanisms and ensures their inclusion and coherence in critical decision-making platforms. The LIF Secretariat aims at being an interface between the LIF members and all actors involved in the Libya response.
Capacity Building
